Quality assurance and predictive maintenance are paramount in running a successful production line. We develop fully automatic visual inspection systems capable of multiple measurements per second to sub-millimeter accuracy.
We work with the established industry software HALCON to measure, analyse and visualise our customers’ products. Depending on the requirements we choose the right optical sensor, starting at industry cameras up to laser profilers with nanometer precision. Our software is used to ensure quality in the famously meticulous car industry. Additionally shifts in measurements over time can be used to predict required maintenance on tooling.
For our client Kappa Filter Systems GmbH we created a system capable of visually measuring the emission of steel furnaces in real time to control and regulate the exhaust systems of large steel plants. The optical systems are not only comparable in accuracy to chemical sensor systems but are also largely maintenance free thanks to their physical distance from the actual emissions. Optic Expert allows Kappa to easily calculate the required volume of their ventilation systems without costly tests or installation. As far as we know this system is the first of its kind in the use of visual computing to solve such a problem.
